Altai Mountain Snow Leopard Tour March 21, 2024
£776 – £2996

All our snow leopard watching holidays, wildlife tours and safaris all over the world are listed below:

The Grey Ghost, Shah, the King of the Himalayas, the Snow Leopard goes by names and near mythical status. One of the most elusive and stunning species in the world, this is an animal which makes a living in some of the world’s most inhospitable locations in the world. But the high elevations, lack of luxury lodges and often very cold temperatures has not stopped people from wanting to see this wonderful animal.

Royle Safaris has pioneered trips to see snow leopards in the Indian Himalayas as well as in the Russian Altai Mountains and the incredible Valley of the Cats in China. We can also arrange specialist snow leopard watching trips to the wilderness of Nepal’s Langtang National Park.

Most of these trips are set to depart in late winter which is the snow leopard’s mating season. This means two things, firstly the high mountain winters bring with them sub-zero temperatures and snow, these factors force down the snow leopard’s prey to lower elevations. These lower elevations help us in our quest as we can access these places without additional oxygen and specialist mountain climbing gear. The second reason this time of year is good is that the snow leopards are very active as they search for mates and do extra scent marking along their territory borders.

These factors as well as our incredibly well trained and dedicated snow leopard spotting guides make our dedicated Snow Leopard Watching Tours the perfect way to see and observe this incredible rare and elusive species.

So if you are interested in snow leopards, experiencing their stunning habitat and being in the presence of the great Himalayan ecosystem then we have the perfect Snow Leopard Tracking Tour for you.

All these tours are available on other dates (subject to availability) than the dates listed. Please contact us to arrange a tour on a date which suits you.

Fact of the Day

Only one species of frog actually makes a rebbit noise; it is the Californian tree-frog and is responsible for everyone associating the call with all frogs as it is the one recorded by Hollywood and used in all movies
