Tiger Safari Holidays

Tiger Watching in India

India is not just the home of some of the world’s most iconic and sought after species for wildlife enthusiasts, but also home to unique and incredible culture. You could spend a lifetime travelling all over India to take in the many wildlife watching locations and historical and cultural sites and still not experience everything in incredible and vast country has to offer. But it is possible to experience a small section of the culture, history and wildlife in one of Royle Safaris Indian Wildlife Holidays. We have a huge range of Indian wildlife watching tours and India Tiger Safaris and explore the natural world as well as showcasing the various local cultures, religious and historical sites around where we go. Nowhere is this better exemplified than with our Tigers and Temples Safari Tourmany tour operators have an equivalent tour named Temples and Tigers, we have decided to call ours Tigers and Temples as our main focus are the tigers, yes we visit some of India’s greatest historical sites but it is the tigers that are the main attraction as with most of our wildlife holidays to India.

This tiger tour not only explores the tiger heaven that is Bandhavgarh, which boasts the highest density of tigers in the world but we also visit some of Old Delhi’s sites such as Qubt Minor, Red Fort, Jama Misjid and the resting place of the great Mahatma Ghandi as well as spending a day and night at the 4,000 year old Hindu temples of Khajuraho.

It is these sandstone temples that showcase the erotic and intricate carvings, depicting the social, personal and sexual lives of ancient Hindu princes, princesses and the Royal households as well as detailed descriptions of warfare and life in the ancient armed forces. It is miraculous that these sandstone temples have survived this long in a monsoon climate but they do and with some careful restoration these wonderful carvings are a joy to experience before further exploring India and heading to the tiger capital of the world.

Through years of dedicated wildlife watching in India we have developed a great network of local guides and have hand picked the hotels and resorts we stay in during our India Tiger Safaris and make sure that they are perfectly places to explore the best tiger safaris that India has to offer. So please feel free to click on any of the links in this text and you will be able to review our Tigers & Temples Safari Holiday. But if our standard itinerary does not suit your requirements then we can of course amend this and change the locations, duration of stay and focus of the tour to suit any of our wishes. Including a very popular two day extension that visits the most famous cultural site in all of India, the iconic and beautiful Taj Mahal.
